ROAST FOR RAY SCHOONOVER

On June 11th, 2010 the Enid A.M. Ambucs held a roast to honor Ray Schoonover.  As most of you know Ray Schoonover has held every office in the Ambucs organization and has done more for not only this organization, but has also contributed significantly to the well being for the City of Enid.  Mayor John Criner proclaimed Friday June 11th, 2010 as Ray Schoonover day in the City of Enid.  Ray will also be honored with a star on the Enid Walk of Fame, which is the highest award that a citizen in Enid, Oklahoma can get.  The Enid A.M. Ambucs are going to honor Ray by purchasing a named scholarship in his name.  Ray has either been the Sparkplug or on the new club building team that has been responsible for building 16 Ambuc chapters.  Ray also has over 70 stars representing the number of people he has brought into this organization and that is not counting the people he has given away to help someone else receive their Big Hat.  Ray Schoonover has always been the one constant in our club.  He is always involved in every project that our club does.  Ray has never asked for anything in return for all his hard work that he has done for this organization.  Therefore if doesn't really surprise us that Ray has been really humbled by all the fuss that everyone is making.  But in our eyes nobody deserves more for what he has done for our organization.  If you would like to contribute to the "Ray Schoonover Scholarship", you may send a check to the Enid A.M. Ambucs, P.O. Box 3122, Enid, OK  73702.  If you would like you may also use a credit card and click on the "DONATE" button on this page.  Several pictures were taken from the roast the other evening and we have compiled a slide show of those pictures.  Click on the movie below to see some of the pictures that were taken.

Amtryke Program

The Enid A.M. Ambucs are very proud of the fact that we have given away 63 Amtrykes to very deserving kids from June 1, 2009 to May 31, 2010.  We held the largest Amtryke Rodeo in Oklahoma last September in which we gave away 33 Amtrykes at one time.  We obviously could not have done this without the help of our sponsors, donors and our club members.  Our organization is making an impact on the lives of disabled kids and their families.

If you would like to contribute to our Amtryke Program and help us help these kids you can donate by clicking on the DONATE Button below.  We are a 501 c(3) organization, so all donations are tax deductible.  If you like more information you can go to our Amtryke page.
